Chianti Wine Review: A Slave to Lamb Koftas

a bottle of Chianti Colli Senesi for a Chianti wine review

What’s a glorious bottle of Italian red got to do with prawn cocktail Pringle food comas and lamb koftas? My Chianti wine review, probably of many to come because I love it too much…

If I wanted to microchip the world, sack Covid jabs, I’d be sneaking them in Pringles.

What is it that’s so addictive about them? (Pringles, not microchips, but whatever provides buoyancy for your watercraft).

I’ve lost count of the times I’ve allowed myself to slip into a prawn cocktail Pringle-induced food coma.

They’re definitely laced with something to keep you eating them. I mean they have to be, because ‘Once You Pop, You Can Stop If You Want” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, does it?

This week’s wine is kinda that but in sumptuously smooth, berry-burstin’ form.

๐Ÿ‡Grape: Sangiovese

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Origin: Tuscany

๐Ÿ’ท Price: ยฃ5.99

๐Ÿ›’ Supermarket: Lidl

Part of Lidl’s Summer Wine Tour, this Chianti is up there with the best and most more-ish wines I’ve tried this year.

I like it because it’s nice on its own if you’re just sitting off in the sun with a book. Not too dry, just silky palatable goodness packed with berry and floral flavours that last forever in your mouth.

But it’s also gregariously generous paired with my lamb koftas I’ve become enslaved to over recent weeks.

‘When they’re gone, they’re gone,’ the sign says next to it, so head down and grab one while you can.

Have a great weekend, mates.
